Why Franchise in 2017? Showcasing Signworld Success Stories

Signworld Success Stories

Despite the growing popularity of virtual advertising, market analysis have tracked an all-around growth in indoor and outdoor signage demand through 2017. It seems like now’s the time to get involved in the sign business, but what’s better: franchising or starting a business on your own?
Ultimately, the decision is yours, but it’s important to look at success stories from both sides to see what fits your lifestyle and business goals. Today, we share some success stories that highlight some of the benefits of the Signworld business model.

  • Signworld’s autonomous franchise model lets you bring your unique vision to life. Browsing through some of our success stories, newcomers are often struck by the lack of Signworld branding on display. That’s because our franchisees are encouraged to build their businesses as they please, right down to the brand name; rather than “Signworld – Madison, AL” or “Signworld, Irvine, CA,” our success stories highlight great work from Experience Signs and Caliber Signs & Imaging. This all boils down to our philosophy “no rules, no royalties,” which combines all the tool and resources you’d get from a homogenous national brand with the freedom you get as a self-starter. If you’re looking for a franchise system that supports your unique vision, Signworld is a good fit.
  • Signworld’s top-tier training lets you tackle any task. Scott Kuehn, Signworld franchisee and proud owner of Optimum Signs in Menomonee Falls, WI, recently completed a project for a local apartment complex/shopping center that really showcases the way our training system puts the sign world at your fingertips. Scott’s team was tasked with a tricky project: a custom, full-color backlit LED component that would be easy for the customer to replace and maintain year-round. Scott’s team also had to work around limited space, and design the sign in a way that maintained the aspect ratio in relation to nearby lettering. Scott knocked it out of the park: empowered by Signworld’s top-tier training, his team leapt into action to design and install a beautiful, custom-built sign that put the customer over the moon – and put $14,000 worth of revenue into his business.

Our training makes the possibilities for custom sign creation limitless, and this kind of flexibility can land you some one-in-a-lifetime job opportunities. Martin and Mary Neil, Signworld franchisees and owners of Caliber Signs & Imaging in Irvine, CA, recently completed an unusual and large project: a rocket-wrap promoting the Anaheim Ducks at a local children’s science museum. Typically, templates are used to assist installers and sign-makers when working on vehicles, boats, and other traditional wraps, but – unsurprisingly – no rocket-wrap templates were available. In other words, this project was only possible because of their capacity for creating custom wraps. They relied on their training and a little extra-curriculum geometry knowledge for the design, then rented a 125-foot crane to assist with the installation, finishing the entire project in a little over two weeks!

  • Signworld’s responsive business model captures leads faster than the competition. Mike McKeon of Experience Signs in Madison, AL recently finished a box truck wrapping project for a local moving company that yielded $2,500 over two days. But here’s the kicker: they hadn’t even had a grand opening yet!

Like many Signworld franchisees, Mike captured the lead through his company’s website, which helped set up a meeting with a representative. Most of our franchisees generate up to 80% of their sales from their website alone, and the fast response time that this mobile model makes possible means we can scoop up leads faster than competitors tied to traditional customer communications.
